Ho Chi Minh City honors 478 typical examples of patriotic emulation

Attending the congress were Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, First Vice President of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang. Also attending were former leaders of the Party and State; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and 478 advanced models who were commended and rewarded.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said: Over the past 5 years, the City's patriotic emulation movement has continuously developed. Many emulation movements have been enthusiastically responded to by the majority of people, leaving deep impressions and great effectiveness, contributing to enhancing the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, dynamism and creativity of the City's people.

"In many areas of social life, the City has had many practical and effective creative emulation movements that have been replicated in many provinces and cities across the country. Many emulation movements have carried out major campaigns and movements launched by the Central Government, ministries and branches have been implemented effectively by all levels and branches," Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized.

At the Congress, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the period of 2020 - 2025 were awarded by the President, the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the City People's Committee. At the Congress, 9 collectives were awarded the Government's Emulation Flag for their outstanding achievements, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City.

Honored to be one of 487 typical advanced examples recognized at the Congress, Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, shared that this is a recognition of her and the City Digital Transformation Center's efforts. Providing public administrative services to people online is a goal that the City always upholds.

The city is moving towards a data-driven governance model that helps make more accurate and effective decisions, especially digital transformation in building a two-level local government. This will both help reduce pressure on staff and civil servants and bring convenience to people and businesses. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center must make even more efforts.

People's Physician, Doctor, Specialist II Nguyen Viet Giap, Director of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Eye Hospital shared that patriotic emulation must be demonstrated through practical activities, bringing benefits to the whole community. With many practical and specific actions, the Hospital has done a good job in preventing blindness, providing community eye care, bringing light to tens of thousands of patients.

Launching the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025 - 2030, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc clearly stated the key goals, including building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; perfecting the organizational model of the political system; promoting the tradition of solidarity, dynamism, humanity, creativity, daring to think, knowing how to do, daring to take responsibility. The city builds a team of "intelligent, courageous, dedicated, honest, innovative" cadres, wholeheartedly serving the people. Units need to mobilize all resources, effectively exploit potentials, advantages, strategic positions and effectively develop science - technology, innovation, digital transformation to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, by 2030, the City will become a civilized, modern urban area, among the top 100 global cities worth living; by 2045, it will be among the top 100 best cities in the world, worthy of being an international megacity of Southeast Asia. The City will improve people's lives; ensure social security, sustainable poverty reduction, care for policies and workers, and not leave anyone behind. People will build a green, safe, and livable city; protect the environment, respond to climate change; ensure national defense and security, maintain political stability, and integrate deeply into the international community.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc also identified key groups of tasks and solutions. These are: Strengthening the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels; closely linking emulation results with the responsibilities of leaders; innovating the growth model, restructuring the economy towards taking science, technology and innovation as the main driving force.

With the slogan: "Solidarity, innovation, creativity, emulation to build Ho Chi Minh City as a pioneer, together with the whole country entering a new era", Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc called on all cadres, party members, soldiers of the armed forces, civil servants, public employees, businessmen, intellectuals, artists, workers, farmers, youth and people to continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, creativity, loyalty, and pioneering for the whole country, together with the whole country...
