At the ceremony, Microsoft announced the list of more than 900 Microsoft Showcase Schools (SCS) and 43,000 Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (MIEEs) globally for the 2025–2026 school year.

In Vietnam, 29 schools and over 2,500 professionals have been recognized, an increase of nearly 200% compared to the previous academic year. This result demonstrates the strong and effective pace of digital transformation in Vietnam's education system. Notably, Van Lang University is the first university in Vietnam to be recognized by Microsoft as a Microsoft Model School.
Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Tran Thi My Dieu, Rector of Van Lang University, said that this title is a testament to the university's digital transformation capabilities and academic standing within the global education network. She expressed hope that the awards ceremony would spread the spirit of innovation to other educational institutions, contributing to the promotion of digital transformation and the development of a smart, modern, and creative learning environment nationwide.

Ms. Tran Thi My Dieu emphasized that, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the development of artificial intelligence, equipping lecturers, staff, and students with digital capabilities is an essential requirement, helping teachers and learners adapt flexibly to the digital environment, while simultaneously improving the quality of teaching and learning.
Over the past three years, Van Lang University has implemented numerous activities to enhance the digital capabilities of its faculty and students, promote digital transformation in teaching, research, and management, and encourage innovative initiatives to improve the quality of education.
As a result, 87 faculty members of the school were awarded the Microsoft Innovative Education Expert title for the 2025-2026 academic year; 188 faculty members received the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) certification; and 1,858 staff, faculty, and employees participated in Microsoft training programs such as MIE, MCE, MIEE, Power BI, and Excel Mastery. Technological solutions were effectively applied in teaching, research, and management activities.

"Digital competence is not just about the ability to use technology, but also about creative thinking, ensuring information security, and data analysis. This is the foundation that helps learners and teachers adapt quickly to open education models and lifelong learning," Ms. Dieu emphasized.
Ms. Phan Tu Quyen, Director of Microsoft Ho Chi Minh City, representing Microsoft Vietnam, stated that the titles "Microsoft Exemplary School" and "Microsoft Innovative Education Expert" are well-deserved recognitions for pioneering groups and individuals who apply technology to teaching and management. Accordingly, the scientific and creative use of technology in education brings many practical benefits to students, teachers, and the community.
“Education has always been one of Microsoft’s top priorities. Our mission is to empower teachers, students, and educational institutions to achieve more, while contributing to the digital transformation of education in Vietnam,” Ms. Phan Tu Quyen further shared.
The Vietnam Education Innovation Recognition Day is an annual event held since 2021, aiming to honor the efforts of schools and teachers in the digital transformation journey and the creative and effective application of information technology in teaching and management.
The program also provides an experiential space for educational technology through exhibition booths of leading businesses and organizations, while creating opportunities for networking and sharing experiences among educators, administrators, and experts in specialized workshop sessions.
