Information about integrating digital transcript data was announced by a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training at the conference "Digital transformation in education and training", taking place on December 3 and 4 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics .

Digitized information of 50,000 educational institutions

The conference had representatives from education management units, localities and training institutions across the country. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said that after three years of implementing Decision 131/QD-TTg, digital transformation in education has achieved many positive results.

The Ministry of Education and Training has basically completed the construction of a national education database at the preschool, secondary and university levels. Some important platforms such as digital transcripts and digital diplomas are being actively deployed, moving towards integration into the national common data system.

Digitized information of 50,000 educational institutions, more than 27 million student records, over 1.7 million teacher records, over 115,000 records of managers and employees.

Mr. Phuc said that this conference aims to collect opinions from experts and educational institutions to advise the Government on building solutions for the 2026-2030 period, towards a synchronous digital ecosystem, focusing on data and improving the quality of education in the entire industry.

More than 91% of primary school students and 50% of secondary school students have used digital report cards.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Son - Deputy Director of the Department of General Education (Ministry of Education and Training), by the end of the 2024 - 2025 school year, 91.6% of primary school students and 50.5% of secondary school students will use digital report cards.

Many localities have integrated digital student transcript data with the VNeID application to serve enrollment, school transfer and online administrative procedures.

In addition, the management platforms LMS, VnEdu, SMAS are widely deployed, promoting digital management, cashless payments, online teaching and professional activities.

Thousands of digital learning materials have also been uploaded to the "Digital Popular Education" platform, creating conditions for teachers and students to exploit more conveniently. The piloting of artificial intelligence (AI) educational content from December 2025 is considered an important preparation step for mass deployment.

However, the risk of a "digital gap" between regions and the lack of synchronization in infrastructure and equipment are still challenges that need to be overcome soon.

Perfecting digital data, moving towards a national shared platform

Mr. To Hong Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Information (Ministry of Education and Training) - said that in the period of 2022 - 2025, digital transformation of education has achieved many positive results.

General education completed 10/19 goals, university education completed 4/13 goals ahead of schedule and basically achieved 6/13 goals.

Some key databases such as digital transcripts and digital diplomas are being gradually integrated on the VNeID platform, creating convenience for learners and reducing administrative procedures.

The education sector aims to digitize diplomas of those born in 1970 and later. Digitizing diplomas is an important step to increase transparency, limit fraud and create a basis for connecting with national population data.

"However, the education sector still faces many limitations such as uneven technology infrastructure, lack of funding and specialized human resources; disparities in digital capacity between teachers and students; and lack of a common learning platform nationwide. These factors make the digitalization progress unsynchronized between localities," said Mr. Nam.

Mr. Nam said that in the 2026 - 2030 period, the ministry will prioritize building a "correct - sufficient - clean - alive - unified - shared" database. At the same time, it will develop unified learning and education management platforms nationwide.

Along with that, increase investment in digital infrastructure, ensure information security, expand the Internet for education and attract high-quality technology human resources to the industry.
