Ho Chi Minh City: Rescued 165 people overnight from flooded areas due to heavy rain

On the morning of October 23, Ho Chi Minh City Police reported on the successful rescue of 165 people amid rapidly flowing floodwaters caused by heavy rain in Ben Cat ward.

Accordingly, early this morning (October 23), due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, Long Hung and Cau Doi neighborhoods in Ben Cat ward (formerly Binh Duong province), Ho Chi Minh City were partially flooded, with rushing water posing a danger to many households. Upon receiving the news at 1:08 a.m., the City Police Command Center quickly dispatched forces to the scene.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 31 with 3 vehicles and 20 officers and soldiers; the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team with 1 vehicle and 9 officers and soldiers quickly arrived at the scene to coordinate with local authorities, Ben Cat Ward Police and the Ward Military Command to deploy rescue work.

Thanks to the efforts and urgency, the authorities were able to bring 165 people, including many children and the elderly, out of the deeply flooded area, ensuring absolute safety.

By dawn, the water was still receding slowly due to heavy rain, however the situation was under control and there were no casualties.
