The signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, which took place on October 25 and 26, marked an important step forward in the global effort to strengthen international cooperation and ensure security and safety in cyberspace. To date, nearly 70 countries and organizations have signed the Convention. In particular, the United Nations' selection of Hanoi as the venue for the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention is an important milestone in Vietnam's history of multilateral diplomacy and nearly 50 years of Vietnam-United Nations partnership.

Speaking at the reception, President Luong Cuong warmly welcomed the leaders and heads of delegations from member countries and international organizations who came to Vietnam to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime and had a busy but meaningful working day.

The President said that when coming to Hanoi, the capital of a thousand years of culture, delegates will feel the intersection between tradition and modernity, between the lasting values of history and the dynamic pace of life of the times. Hanoi today carries within itself the vitality of innovation and creativity and the aspiration to rise in the digital age.

The President emphasized that with the memorable moments of the signing ceremony, the Hanoi Convention has become a new milestone in the integration journey of Vietnam and Hanoi itself, where the past is preserved, the present is connected and the future is opening up with technology and knowledge.

Pointing out that today, when the world is connected by billions of transmission lines, trust is still the strongest "wireless signal" that connects them all. The President believes that, behind all negotiation efforts, beyond all legal terms, the most precious thing that remains is sincerity, trust and friendship.

The President affirmed that it is these values that have brought delegates and distinguished guests to Hanoi today, to write together the story of a sustainable, safe and humane digital future; together opening a new chapter of cooperation, where commitments are transformed into actions and trust is followed by concrete steps, so that the Convention can soon come into life.
