The above information was given by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko on September 12, on the sidelines of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum, taking place in Vladivostok city.

According to Mr. Rudenko, the card launch in Thailand is in the works.

Previously, in an interview with RTVI , Director of the Department of Asia 3, Russian Foreign Ministry Nikolai Nozdrev also informed that Russian payment cards are accepted at one of the largest supermarket chains in Thailand.

Currently, Russian MIR cards are accepted in a number of countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and South Korea.

* On the same day, speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Western countries of destroying the system of trade and financial relations that his country had built.

"We see how the global economy has changed and continues to change in recent years, partly due to a number of countries, primarily Western ones," the Russian leader said during the plenary session.

According to him, it is important that in this context there is an open space in the world for genuine business cooperation between countries that are not subject to any external pressure but follow their own national interests.

The 8th Eastern Economic Forum took place in Vladivostok from September 10-13. The theme of this year's Forum is "Towards Cooperation, Peace and Prosperity".
