More destinations for music and tea lovers

“We made a date at the Peace Music Night/The words were not spoken yet but my heart heard them clearly/The tea cup tilted, like the wind tilting in time/This song… is it familiar?” The four verses printed on the invitation to the “Peace Music Night” at Tra Vien, No. 1, Picenza, Dong Bam (Thai Nguyen City) left a special impression on me.

Teahouse, a new place for everyone to enjoy tea
Teahouse, a new place for everyone to enjoy tea

Surely many people had the same impression as me, so even though it was raining, the first and second floors and even under the umbrellas in the garden were still full of people. They came not only to enjoy tea and listen to music, but also to find something more peaceful within themselves.

The music night lasted more than two hours, but everything seemed to be shortened in the silence. The Happy Life band, consisting of three young people playing guitar, electronic drums, and organ, brought a youthful yet profound atmosphere. Artists from Hanoi and Thai Nguyen performed songs by musician Trinh Cong Son, Zen songs, and songs about mothers and the homeland. The lively exchanges with the audience made the atmosphere warmer. Artist Thanh Lich performed the song "Nguoi dep Thai Nguyen" (music by Cao Khac Thuy) with... three flutes, receiving long applause.

Poet Hien Mac Chat, who wrote the poem for the song “Nguoi dep Thai Nguyen ”, could not hide his pride. He was excited to interact and take photos with the audience. Many young people said they had heard the song “Nguoi dep Thai Nguyen” for a long time, but this was the first time they knew and “sat at the same tea table” with the lyricist. Also at the Binh An music night, the song “Chieu que huong” (music by An Nguyen, poetry by Nguyen Thuan) performed by teacher Ngoc Linh (Thai Nguyen University) made the listeners feel calm, understand and love the “half-field, half-mountain” countryside of Thai Nguyen even more.

But perhaps the most touching and noteworthy part is the sharing from the "owner" of Tra Vien - Ms. To Thuy. Ms. Thuy is a businesswoman from Hanoi, who got to know Thai Nguyen thanks to... tea. As someone with knowledge of Oriental medicine, she has been deeply researching the value of Vietnamese tea plants for human health since two years ago, when she participated in the research project "The Essence of Vietnamese Tea".

Coming from her hometown of Lap Thach ( Vinh Phuc ) - a place with an ancient tea region, and being the daughter of a father who is passionate about tea, Ms. Thuy always wonders: How can clean tea and natural tea reach more people? Five-element tea is one of her answers. Each box of tea has 5 types, suitable for each person's physical condition: people with insomnia, people with stressful work, people who need to calm down... all find the companionship of tea.

Not only a drink, tea is also used in cuisine (peanut candy, mochi cake, sausage candy, other dishes...), cosmetics (shower gel, sunscreen, moisturizer...). In particular, according to Ms. Thuy, old tea leaves have the ability to fight aging, regenerate collagen, a product line that she and her colleagues are very interested in bringing to the beauty and culinary fields in the near future.

Staying after the Binh An music night, I listened to Ms. Thuy confide in her plans when coming to Thai Nguyen. According to her, this land has beautiful scenery, simple people and especially tea trees - her passion. The "long-term" plan is very big, but for now, Ms. Thuy rented location No. 1 Picenza (Dong Bam), invested nearly 2 billion VND to create a place to combine Tea - Oriental Medicine - Coffee, 3 jobs that can support each other. Ms. Thuy plans to be the person connecting tea houses, promoting communication, telling stories about tea, contributing to bringing Thai Nguyen Tea beyond the limits of a local specialty, bringing greater value when communicated and used in high-end products.

Currently, society is emerging a trend of classifying lifestyles or emotional states according to tea. There are 5 most popular trends that are being mentioned a lot on social networks: Tea slaves (making tea for themselves, from finding good water, lighting the charcoal stove, choosing tea... they are relaxed and happy in every step); Tea stillness (drinking tea, reading books, watching flowers, meditating... without being entangled in social work); Tea gold (considering tea trees/tea as gold and silver, putting stories into tea products to increase value, making tea into cakes, souvenirs...); Tea Buddha (drinking tea with a light mind, letting go); Tea crazy (referring to people who like novelty, brilliance, and many colors, so they often use mixed teas such as fruit tea, rose tea, pineapple tea, peach tea, or iced matcha...). Tea producers/businesses should also grasp these trends to serve or create other trends.

Regarding the Tra Vien space, Ms. To Thuy confided: I hope this will be a warm garden, a place to meet, share and give everyone peaceful energy. I do not need Tra Vien to be a source of income, but simply want this place to be a place where people love tea and know more about tea. I have worked with the band, regularly on Mondays and Fridays every week, they will perform at Tra Vien. The audience comes to listen for free, simply to drink tea, listen to music and return to their own silence. The band also accompanies with their hearts, as a way to join hands for the community culture. Life sometimes does not need a reason to do good things, but only because of the passion deep in the heart.

Ms. Thuy also said that she will provide free services to groups and individuals who want to organize non-profit cultural events in Tra Vien. In the context that Thai Nguyen does not have many cultural activities, this is good news for artists and cultural workers in the province. Writer Cao Hong - who is cherishing the idea of establishing a club for people who love literature and art - expressed his hope that Tra Vien will be an ideal place for her to organize cultural events such as talking about poetry, music and exchanging...

It would be too early to expect anything greater for Thai Nguyen tea and tea culture, but Ms. To Thuy's current work is very valuable. She is contributing to making the cultural life of Thai Nguyen people richer and more unique.
