Love Chemical Engineering but worried about toxicity

I am currently a first-year student majoring in Chemical Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. I chose this major because I am very passionate about it. However, I read some people's opinions that this major will be very toxic after working and advised not to pursue it long-term.
