Genius Caudron makes impressive start at World Cup Porto 2024

The Porto 2024 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup kicked off on the afternoon of July 7th (Vietnam time) in Portugal. Notably, world number one player Frederic Caudron is also competing from the first qualifying round. The player nicknamed "the genius" is in Group F along with Ercan Aydin and Nalle Olsson.

With his class, the Belgian player easily advanced through the first qualifying round with a perfect winning record. The 3-cushion billiards star, born in 1968, had a very impressive opening at the Porto 2024 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup, with very convincing victories. Caudron defeated Ercan Aydin 30-8 after 12 innings and beat Nalle Olsson 30-10 after 11 innings. The Belgian player's highest score series were 11, 9, and 8 respectively.

Similar to the last two World Cups in 3-Cushion Carom Billiards (since the return to the UMB), Frederic Caudron once again secured first place in the qualifying round. In the first qualifying round of the Porto 2024 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup, Caudron averaged 2.608, leading the list of players advancing to the second qualifying round.

In the second qualifying round, played on the afternoon of July 8th (Vietnam time), the Belgian player was in Group P along with Maxime Panaia and Tobias Bouderick. Caudron played his first match against Panaia at 6:30 PM (Vietnam time).

Another notable figure is Birol Uymaz (Türkiye), who also advanced through the first qualifying round of the Porto 2024 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup. The former PBA champion will also compete in the second qualifying round this afternoon (July 8).

Meanwhile, Nguyen Dinh Luan, the only Vietnamese player competing in the first qualifying round of the Porto 2024 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup, was eliminated early. No Vietnamese players participated in the second qualifying round.
