On December 30th, the weather across the country remained relatively stable, with sunny and dry conditions in most areas, except for some places in the Central and Southern Central regions where thunderstorms occurred.
Commenting on the weather trends in the North, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecasting Department (National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting), said that cold air is still the dominant weather pattern in this region.
Therefore, from now until the beginning of 2024, Northern Vietnam will maintain a dry and sunny climate with large temperature differences between day and night. Simultaneously, fog will be frequent at night and in the morning.
Experts warn that in the coming days, fog could reduce visibility in midland and mountainous areas to below 300 meters. This phenomenon also causes pollutants to accumulate, further deteriorating air quality in urban areas such as Hanoi .
Therefore, the air pollution situation in Hanoi is not expected to improve in the coming days.
From now until New Year's Day, the northern region of Vietnam has not been affected by any cold fronts. Therefore, people will enjoy the holiday with favorable weather, sunny and warm during the day, and turning cold or chilly at night and in the early morning.
In Central Vietnam, thunderstorms are likely to be concentrated from Quang Binh to Da Nang on January 1, 2024. The probability of rain in this area is over 70%.
From Binh Thuan down to the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, the weather is sunny and dry, suitable for people to participate in outdoor activities.
