On the morning of November 14th (Peru time, late afternoon of the same day in Vietnam time), President Luong Cuong delivered an important speech at the APEC Business Summit 2024.

APEC stands for the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum. The APEC 2024 High-Level Week includes various activities, among which is the APEC CEO Summit.
This is the largest annual event organized by the business community in the region.
With the theme "People. Businesses. Prosperity," this conference includes more than 20 discussion sessions focusing on issues and trends that have a major impact on the development of the region and the world , such as climate change, the artificial intelligence revolution, and innovation.
Speaking at the event, President Luong Cuong shared his view that the world and the Asia-Pacific region are undergoing tremendous, epoch-making transformations with multifaceted impacts on all countries and businesses.
Emphasizing the role of the business community, the President stated that optimism, a willingness to think outside the box and take action, and the ability to identify and seize opportunities even in difficult times are the keys to success.
He suggested further strengthening the role and contributions of the business community, especially in green transformation, digital transformation, technology development, shaping global economic laws and regulations, and consolidating people-to-people exchanges, cooperation, and friendship among countries.
Sharing his thoughts on Vietnam, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the country is entering a new era with a new mindset, with a strong aspiration for national development towards prosperity and happiness, and with unwavering faith in a bright future.
Vietnam boasts a rapidly developing and dynamic economy, ranking 35th in the world. It has a strong and stable political system that prioritizes the people, and is also a patriotic, confident, self-reliant, and self-sufficient nation. Vietnam has a population of over 100 million and a wide network of international friends and partners.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam supports the multilateral trading system and the central role of the World Trade Organization, and believes in the value of free trade, connectivity, and international integration.

Vietnam's development benefits businesses.
The President affirmed that Vietnam's strong development will open up many new opportunities for both domestic and international businesses in fields ranging from trade, industry, agriculture, and tourism to infrastructure, logistics, and high-tech sectors.
The Vietnamese market has offered, is offering, and will continue to offer many benefits and advantages that few other places can provide for international businesses and investors.
He also highlighted the key advantages that the Vietnamese economy possesses. These include its favorable geographical location in Southeast Asia, a dynamic and highly open economy, and a network of 17 free trade agreements.
Vietnam also possesses a large and promising market, making it a favorable destination for the relocation of supply chains in the region. Concluding his speech, President Luong Cuong affirmed that in the face of the immense changes in the world and the risks of protectionism, fragmentation, and separation, APEC once again needs to shoulder the responsibility of bridging, connecting, and promoting cooperation among members to jointly build a transparent and equitable international economic governance system that ensures balanced benefits for all parties.

At noon on November 14th (Peru time, early morning of November 15th Vietnam time), President Luong Cuong met with a number of leading Peruvian businesses in various fields such as mining, energy, port investment, and financial services.
On the same day, the President also received the US-APEC Business Alliance. During the meeting, he stated that Vietnam wishes to cooperate closely with US and APEC businesses in the fields of high technology and innovation; renewable energy and green development.
Vietnam also welcomes American companies to invest in the fields of artificial intelligence; big data; biotechnology; establishing research and development centers; and financial technology.
