
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed leaders of ASEAN countries and ASEAN partner countries and organizations, including: the Sultan of Brunei; the Presidents of Indonesia, the Philippines, Timor Leste, Brazil, and South Africa; the Prime Ministers of Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Canada; the President of the European Council, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Taking place from October 26 to 28, the 47th ASEAN Summit includes nearly 20 meetings and high-level activities. It is expected that the Leaders will sign, approve and acknowledge nearly 80 documents to promote cooperation between ASEAN and its partners in many priority areas, especially economics , trade... In particular, it is expected that ASEAN will officially admit Timor Leste as the 11th member of the bloc.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led the Vietnamese delegation to the conference, continuing to affirm Vietnam's active participation and responsible contribution to the overall success of the conferences; maintaining solidarity, consensus, and strengthening connectivity within ASEAN; for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in ASEAN and the world.
