Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed the importance of the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Turkey and hoped that Turkish businesses would pay more attention to investing in Vietnam.

According to the special correspondent of VNA, on the evening of October 23, local time, within the framework of activities attending the expanded BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russian Federation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure at meeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan again; recalling his good impressions of the country and people of Türkiye during his official visit in November 2023.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Türkiye on its important socio-economic achievements in recent times; expressed his belief that under the wise leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Türkiye will successfully implement the “Vision of the Century.”

The Prime Minister affirmed that he attaches importance to the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Türkiye and hopes that Turkish businesses will pay more attention to investing in Vietnam.

The Turkish President congratulated President Luong Cuong on his new responsibility; expressed his deep impression of Vietnam's achievements in economic and social development; and thanked Vietnam for supporting Türkiye to become a Dialogue Partner in the field of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The Turkish President shared the heavy losses and damages of the Vietnamese Government and people caused by storm No. 3 (international name: storm Yagi).

The two leaders expressed their delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations; agreed to increase exchanges and contacts between high-ranking leaders of the two countries, soon elevate and deepen bilateral relations; promote economic and trade relations commensurate with potential, strive to soon achieve the bilateral turnover target of 4 billion USD, and at the same time study and form new frameworks to further facilitate trade and investment; expand cooperation in other areas, including defense cooperation, and facilitate travel between citizens of the two countries.

The two sides also spent time discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East; and affirmed to strengthen coordination at regional and international cooperation forums in the coming time.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed President Luong Cuong's invitation to the Turkish President to visit Vietnam soon. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan happily accepted the invitation.
