Brazilian club will receive 18 players from Ho Chi Minh City club
As reported, from July 4 to July 8, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , his wife and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation will visit Rio de Janeiro to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit and conduct bilateral activities in Brazil at the invitation of Brazilian President Lula da Silva. President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan will join the delegation, along with other members, accompanying the Prime Minister in a number of activities in Brazil.
On the afternoon of July 5 (local time), in Rio de Janeiro, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements in many fields, including football. Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City Club and Gremio Club signed a 3-year agreement on training young players. Each year, Gremio Club plans to receive 18 young players from Ho Chi Minh City Club aged 15-17 for long-term training.

On the same day, the Prime Minister and his wife visited Vasco da Gama Club in Rio de Janeiro. Here, the Prime Minister proposed that Brazil and Vasco da Gama Club strengthen cooperation and support Vietnam in developing football through training, player training, improving physical strength, competition skills, club management capacity, brand development, competition organization and player rotation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife were presented with a set of Vasco da Gama jerseys by the club's representative, and also presented the club with a CAHN jersey.

These activities aim to concretize the football cooperation memorandum between VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and Ambassador Marco Farani - representative of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), agreed on March 28, 2025. Within the framework of the State visit of Brazilian President Lula da Silva to Vietnam, President Luong Cuong and the Brazilian President witnessed the handover ceremony of the above memorandum.
The Memorandum of Understanding between VFF and the Brazilian Football Confederation is valid for 3 years and automatically extended for 2 more years. The two sides committed to promoting cooperation in many areas to develop Vietnamese and Brazilian football. The cooperation includes organizing conferences, exchanging experts, coaches, and teams at all levels; sharing experiences in organizing professional tournaments; supporting the national teams of the two countries in training and friendly matches; creating conditions for youth teams (U.21 and under) to participate in international tournaments; and sharing knowledge on sports medicine, rehabilitation, and facility management.

Previously, on December 18, 2024, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan received the Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Marco Farani - at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation. The Ambassador affirmed that he would be a bridge to promote football cooperation between the two countries, ready to support if the Vietnamese team goes to Brazil to train and compete. The two sides also agreed on cooperation plans for both youth teams and the national men's and women's teams, in order to learn from the world's leading football development.
