The golf competition at the 33rd SEA Games will take place at the Siam Country Club Rolling Hills, a challenging course with fast greens, sloping fairways, and strategically placed bunkers. The organizers have set the course length at 7,162 yards (6,649m) for men and 6,454 yards (5,900m) for women, equivalent to international tournament standards.
Over the past few days, the Vietnamese golf team has maintained a training schedule to familiarize themselves with the course conditions and optimize their technique, strategy, and endurance for competition. The coaching staff has also closely monitored each member to adjust tactics to suit the actual conditions.

At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese golf team will compete in all four events: men's individual, women's individual, men's team, and women's team. In the individual event, the score is calculated based on the total gross score of the athlete after 4 rounds. Meanwhile, the team score will be based on the best performance of 3 athletes on each day of competition for the men's team, and 2 athletes for the women's team.
Notably, this year's golf tournament continues to feature the presence of Vietnamese referees in the regional arena. Two Vietnamese referees, Vu Nguyen and Bach Cuong Khang, were chosen by the organizers to officiate the tournament. This further affirms the prestige, experience, and professional competence of the Vietnamese golf refereeing team.
The 33rd SEA Games is seen as an opportunity for the young generation of Vietnamese golfers to showcase their skills and experience accumulated from junior and professional tournaments in the country over the past years, and as the next step in affirming Vietnam's position in golf on the Southeast Asian sports map.
