On the occasion of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of primary and secondary boarding schools in the land border communes in Yen Khuong commune, Thanh Hoa province, on the morning of November 9, Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation visited and encouraged cadres, people and armed forces in Yen Khuong border commune.
Yen Khuong Commune is one of two communes of Lang Chanh District in the past, not subject to merger; is one of the remote, mountainous and difficult areas of Thanh Hoa , with difficult infrastructure and transportation, and a high rate of poor households. The commune has a 7km long border with Laos; currently has 1,126 households with 5,562 people.
Visiting Yen Khuong Commune Health Station, the Prime Minister learned about the organizational structure, medical staff, activities, facilities, especially the difficulties and advantages in the station's operations.
Sharing the difficulties of commune health workers in terms of facilities, equipment, medicine, especially difficult travel due to the large area, the Prime Minister requested that the staff and doctors of Yen Khuong Commune Health Station promote the tradition and qualities of Vietnamese physicians, consider the health and lives of the people as the top priority; and effectively implement Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions, strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to focus on doing a good job in preventive medicine; focusing on primary health care for the people; ensuring food hygiene and safety; and guiding and organizing people to ensure hygiene and the environment.
Along with that, we should pay attention to school health care, take care of nutrition for children and the elderly; build a combined military-civilian medical model, not only to take care of the health of Yen Khuong people but also to help people of neighboring Laos to examine and treat diseases.

Visiting Yen Khuong Commune Police, learning about the organizational structure, facilities, and life of commune police officers and soldiers, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that after the reorganization and apparatus, the commune police now have new, heavier tasks, especially in difficult border areas.
Praising Yen Khuong Commune Police for ensuring security, order, social safety, etc., the Prime Minister requested the Commune Police to work with the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and organizations in the commune to successfully build a drug-free commune, strive to build a crime-free commune, and at the same time pay special attention to ethnic minorities and religious people, avoid being taken advantage of by bad guys, inciting division and division of national solidarity, ensuring stability for development, with the spirit of "forgetting oneself for the country and serving the people."
Regarding facilities, the Prime Minister proposed to build a standard model for commune-level police units, submit it to competent authorities for consideration, decision, pilot implementation, and then gradually expand, without perfectionism or haste.

Earlier, early the same day, right after arriving at the border commune of Yen Khuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with the Yen Khuong Border Guard Station, Thanh Hoa province.
After inspecting and inquiring about the work of protecting national border security and sovereignty, ensuring security and order; force building; mass mobilization work and the people's situation in the area, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the officers and soldiers of Yen Khuong Border Guard Station for their efforts to overcome difficulties, excellently completing the task of protecting the national border, ensuring security and order, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the area.
The Prime Minister requested officers and soldiers of Yen Khuong Border Guard Station to always promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, as "a fighting army, a working army, a production labor army," to overcome difficulties and challenges, uphold spirit and responsibility, and successfully complete the task of protecting security and territorial integrity of the national border, maintaining peace at the border, and building a border of friendship, cooperation, and development.
Along with that, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to grasp the situation; be close to the people, understand the people, and be closely attached to the people; ensure security, safety, and peace for the people; care for the material and spiritual lives of the people, including helping people in labor and production, creating livelihoods for the people; care for education and health care for the people; build Yen Khuong commune free of drugs; help and work with the people to promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups./.
