On the morning of October 28, leaders of the Ministry of Construction and representatives of many enterprises participated in a field trip to the IAQ and ECM Factory of Panasonic Electric Works Vietnam Company in Vinh Tan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
This activity is part of the Green Building and Green Transport Week 2025 program chaired by the Ministry of Construction and organized in coordination with relevant units.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Construction Materials (Ministry of Construction) Nguyen Huu Tien said that the survey trip is an opportunity for management agencies and businesses to exchange experiences, promote cooperation and replicate green and smart production models nationwide.
“Panasonic’s IAQ and ECM factories are exemplary models for the application of green technology, smart manufacturing and environmental friendliness. This is a testament to the approach to sustainable development, where technology, innovation and environmental awareness blend to bring clean air and energy-efficient solutions to the community,” said Mr. Tien.
Representing the business, General Director of Panasonic Electric Works Vietnam Masashi Sakabe expressed his honor to welcome the delegation.
Mr. Masashi Sakabe said that through this tour, Panasonic hopes to share its production process and fundamental technologies, which have helped the group become one of the leading infrastructure solution providers in Vietnam.

“For us, people - including customers, employees and the environment - are always at the heart of all activities. Panasonic is committed to working with the Government and partners to develop more green buildings and smart cities, towards a green, modern and sustainable Vietnam,” said Mr. Sakabe.
At the meeting, Panasonic introduced many green solutions for electricity, water and air, applied in the factory's production system. Delegates assessed that these are practical suggestions for the design and operation of green buildings and green cities in the future, especially when Vietnam is aiming for a net zero emission target by 2050.
Panasonic Electric Works Vietnam is one of seven member companies of Panasonic Group in Vietnam, developing production and business activities in three main areas: Construction electrical equipment, lighting and indoor air quality solutions (IAQ).

With a philosophy of “Contributing to Society” for over 100 years, Panasonic has always considered harmony with the environment as a guiding principle in its development. The company is currently implementing the Panasonic GREEN IMPACT strategy, aiming to achieve net zero CO₂ emissions by 2030, while contributing to a reduction of 300 million tons of CO₂ globally by 2050.
According to Mr. Sakabe, this goal is realized through three pillars: Energy saving, promoting circular economy and using renewable energy throughout the entire production and business chain.
“Vietnam is a key market for Panasonic in Southeast Asia. The Binh Duong factory is built to the same high standards as the Tsu factory in Japan, demonstrating a strong commitment to innovating environmentally friendly technology and reducing CO₂ emissions in all production processes,” he said.
A representative of the Ministry of Construction assessed that Panasonic’s model is a practical model for domestic enterprises to learn from in the green transformation process. “Developing green buildings and sustainable production is not only a trend, but also a mandatory requirement for Vietnam to achieve the goal of green growth and sustainable development,” Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien emphasized.
Vietnam Green Building and Green Transport Week 2025 with the theme "Innovation, promoting sustainable development of Green Building and Green Transport" took place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 29.
This is the first time the event has expanded and merged the two fields of construction and transportation, aiming to promote innovation, application of advanced technology, digital transformation and green energy solutions, towards the goal of Net Zero 2050.
