According to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority ( Ministry of Construction ), Vietnam's aviation sector is expected to transport approximately 84 million passengers in 2025, significantly higher than the 75 million passengers transported last year.
After a period of severe decline due to the pandemic, air transport activities have gradually recovered and grown strongly again, contributing to the socio-economic development and tourism of Vietnam.
To date, Vietnam's international flight network has not only been fully restored but has also increased from 130 routes (before the COVID-19 pandemic) to 150 routes, connecting with more than 30 countries and territories.
The Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority has been researching and signing new agreements for many direct flight routes to distant markets such as Europe and North America, creating a foundation for future operations.
Domestically, the domestic flight network has been optimized, the frequency of flights on major routes has increased, and airlines are continuously opening new routes to localities with tourism potential.
Besides the Vietnamese airlines that had already entered the market ( Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet Air, Pacific Airlines, Bamboo Airways), a bright spot demonstrating the vitality and potential of the Vietnamese aviation market is the emergence of two new airlines: Vietravel Airlines and SunPhuQuoc Airways.
According to Uong Viet Dung, Director General of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority: The launch of the two new airlines demonstrates the attractiveness of the Vietnamese aviation market. It also opens up new development opportunities, contributing to market diversification, creating healthy competition, encouraging airlines to improve service quality, diversify products, and reduce ticket prices for passengers. Furthermore, the development of air transport will have a ripple effect, promoting continued investment in and development of transportation infrastructure and stimulating tourism, contributing to the economic development of the locality and the region.
