Specifically, due to the flooding situation in Hue and Da Nang, the railway sector has announced the cancellation of several train services: On October 27th, the SE1/2 and SE3/4 trains departing from Hanoi and Saigon will be suspended; the SE19/20 train departing from Hanoi and Da Nang will also be suspended.

On October 28-29, the "Connecting Central Vietnam Heritage" train service (HD1/2, HD3/4) departing from Hue and Da Nang will be suspended.
A total of 2,700 passengers on these trains were affected. Passengers with tickets on these trains can return their tickets at the station free of charge, within 30 days.
VNR continues to monitor the flood situation to plan its next steps.
In another development, the water level of the Perfume River is predicted to continue rising, threatening the safety of the Bach Ho railway bridge (Hue City). To protect the structure, the railway industry has urgently deployed 19 wagons carrying stones (nearly 700 tons) to block the bridge to increase the load and prevent it from being swept away by the strong current.
Deploying trains to "hold the bridge" is an emergency solution, often applied during heavy rains and floods, to protect critical infrastructure and ensure the safety of the national railway line.
This is the second time the railway industry has had to deploy trains to "secure bridges" during this year's rainy season and floods, proactively responding to natural disasters and ensuring smooth railway traffic.
Earlier, in early October 2025, the railway industry deployed a 300-ton train to secure the bridge in Bac Giang.
