The program was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang, leaders of Phu Tho province, and approximately 180 delegates including ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, and the FDI business community in the area.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong emphasized that the program is the largest multilateral diplomatic event in the series of activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and also the first multilateral diplomatic activity hosted by the province after the administrative boundary consolidation. This is also a forum for the province to share with international friends its vision, aspirations, and development orientation in the new era, aiming for peace , cooperation, and development.
Inheriting the foundation, potential, and achievements of the three provinces of Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, and Phu Tho before their merger, Phu Tho province now possesses a larger scale, broader development potential, and outstanding advantages in terms of location, history, culture, and resources. Over the years, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other central ministries and agencies, along with the cooperation of international partners, the province's foreign affairs work has achieved many significant results. To date, the province has established cooperative relations with 21 localities in Laos, Japan, South Korea, China, Italy, Bulgaria, Cuba, and Mongolia; and signed 15 international cooperation agreements.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, Tran Duy Dong, shared two strategic goals: By 2030, Phu Tho will become one of the growth poles of the Capital Region; a center for industry, trade, logistics, healthcare, high-quality education, and the organization of festivals associated with the nation's origins. By 2045, the province strives to become a centrally-governed city with modern infrastructure, a prosperous society, and a high quality of life for its people.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated Phu Tho's foreign relations achievements in the context of 2025 being a year of many changes and transitions to a new government model after the merger. Despite this, the province's economy achieved impressive growth: GRDP is estimated to increase by 10.52%, ranking first in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region and fourth out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide; its GRDP size ranks sixth out of 34 localities.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang, the meeting was an opportunity for the province to introduce to international friends its new, vast, and more promising development space. From a foreign affairs perspective, the Deputy Minister suggested that the province continue to position its brand at an international level; strive to become a "Center for High-Tech Industry and Sustainable Cultural Heritage" in the region; and at the same time, promote economic diplomacy, technology diplomacy, and cultural diplomacy, considering these as pillars to attract international resources for the province's breakthrough development.
The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that Ambassadors, diplomatic agencies, business associations, and international investors would continue to trust and support Phu Tho, choosing the province as an investment destination in the new phase, especially in the fields of industry, trade, logistics, tourism, and education and training.

Ambassador Pavlin Todorov of the Republic of Bulgaria to Vietnam expressed his admiration for Phu Tho's development vision and increasingly open investment environment. He affirmed that the diplomatic community and FDI businesses highly appreciate the province's proactive integration, and pledged to continue acting as a bridge to promote cooperation, expand investment, and accompany Phu Tho in potential areas, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
With the motto "Accompanying investors - Together building a sustainable future," Phu Tho province will build a transparent, stable, and open investment ecosystem; improve socio-economic infrastructure; create a comprehensive legal environment; promote digital transformation, green transformation, and the application of science and technology. The province is committed to always listening to and supporting businesses in a practical and effective way.
Phu Tho province identifies the success of investors as a crucial measure in its development management. The province aims to strongly attract investment in high-tech industries, green industries, and supporting industries – manufacturing and semiconductors; while simultaneously developing tourism into a key economic sector. The province is determined to strive to become a growth hub of the Capital Region by 2030, making a positive contribution to the overall development of the country.
