The Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association held a networking conference for members and introduced organic standards.

On December 12th, at the Member Networking Conference and Organic Standard Introduction organized by the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association, Ms. Dang Thi Bich Huong, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association, stated: “In 2025, the Vietnamese organic market has seen strong growth in demand; however, this growth is still not in line with domestic production capacity, in terms of scale, quality, and product structure. This reality necessitates further strengthening of the organic production and certification system to better meet the growing needs of domestic consumers.”

Accordingly, in the new and volatile context, the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association, as a pioneering organization in supporting the development of organic agriculture in Vietnam, is constantly striving, overcoming difficulties, leveraging advantages, and proactively implementing practical activities to gather members, support member businesses, organizations, and individuals in raising awareness of organic agriculture, developing production, accessing markets, and consuming products. This will further solidify the Association's position and role in agriculture in general and organic agriculture in particular.

At the conference, experts also introduced the Basic Standard for Organic Agriculture TCCS 01:2024/VOAA.

According to Ms. Tu Thi Tuyet Nhung, a member of the Association's Standing Committee, the VOAA Standard was developed on the basis of the Vietnamese PGS system, referencing the IFOAM Basic Standard and the Vietnamese National Standards (TCVN) on organic agricultural production and processing. The standard covers the entire value chain from cultivation, livestock farming, natural harvesting, beekeeping to processing, trade, and social equity, along with regulations on input materials and guidelines for labeling and using the VOAA certification mark.

In May 2025, the VOAA Standard was recognized by IFOAM Organics International as a member of the “IFOAM Family of Standards,” marking a significant institutional milestone and creating an advantage for Vietnamese organic products when entering the international market.

Accordingly, for 2026, the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association will continue to improve its organization, streamline and enhance the efficiency of its affiliated units, strengthen its membership network, vigorously implement the VOAA Standard, promote domestic and international trade, and expand training, consulting, and communication programs.

The Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association also awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Within the framework of the conference, the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association also awarded certificates of merit to one collective and 13 individuals for their outstanding achievements in 2025 and their positive contributions to the 8th Asian Organic Agriculture Conference in Ninh Binh . The Vietnam Organic Magazine was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Association, achieving the title of "Unit that excellently completed its tasks in 2025," and six individuals from the magazine also received certificates of merit from the Association.

Dr. Ha Phuc Mich, President of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA), emphasized: “2026 will open up a favorable context for organic agriculture as the country enters a new phase after the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the government apparatus at all levels being strengthened and major policies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas being more clearly defined. Along with recent directives from the Party leadership on shifting agriculture from quantitative growth to focusing on quality, safety, efficiency, ecology, and organic farming, organic agriculture is increasingly affirming its position in Vietnam's agricultural development strategy and international integration. These are very favorable conditions for the further development of the organic agriculture sector in the future.”
