Ha Tinh approves agricultural extension program for the period 2026 - 2030

The People's Committee of Ha Tinh province has just issued a decision approving the provincial agricultural extension program for the 2026 - 2030 period.

The agricultural extension program for the period 2026 - 2030 aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of agricultural extension according to the agricultural economic thinking associated with market demand; promote the organization of large-scale commodity production, linking value chains based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. Thereby creating breakthroughs in productivity, quality, food safety; developing ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers; protecting the environment, adapting to climate change and improving people's lives, in line with the Agricultural Extension Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2050 and the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress.

Focus on building agricultural commodity production models as models for specialized areas, meeting market requirements, following sustainable value chains: ecological agriculture, green agriculture, saving resources and reducing emissions; organic agriculture, circular agriculture; contributing to improving productivity, quality, efficiency and income for rural people. Specifically:

- For the field of cultivation and plant protection: Successfully build a safe vegetable production model that meets VietGAP standards according to a sustainable value chain with a scale of 10 hectares/3-4 vegetable regions (each region implemented for 2 consecutive years). Successfully build a model applying some techniques in the improved rice intensification system (SRI), emission reduction production with a scale of 200 hectares/4 regions, each region about 50 hectares, implementing 2-3 consecutive production crops/region.

- Livestock sector: Successfully built a model of a bio-safe, disease-free pig farming area with a scale of 1,500 pigs/about 50 participating households/2 areas. Built a model of buffalo herd improvement using artificial insemination with a mating scale of 250 female buffaloes/5 years/5 locations. Successfully built a model of a free-range commercial chicken farming area meeting VietGAHP standards according to a sustainable value chain with a scale of 15,000 chickens, 15 participating households in coastal sandy areas and hilly and forest areas.

- Aquaculture sector: Focus on building agricultural extension models applying new advances and high technology; agricultural production models according to VietGAP standards, organic, circular, ecological agriculture, emission reduction, linked with product consumption linkage. Successfully build a semi-intensive giant freshwater prawn farming model in ponds meeting VietGAP standards with a scale of 5 hectares/5 years; an improved extensive black tiger prawn farming model meeting organic standards with a scale of 2 hectares/4 years.

- Forestry sector: Focus on building agricultural extension models through the transfer of technical advances, application of science and technology, effective agricultural solutions, linking production with product consumption to shift the agricultural economic structure towards developing commodity production, contributing to sustainable agricultural development. Successfully build a pilot planting model of some new hybrid acacia varieties (BV376, BV584, BV523, BV340...) with a scale of 150 hectares/5 years. Pilot planting model of some medicinal plants, multi-value, high-quality non-timber forest products (5-ribbed cajuput, tea tree, purple morinda...) with a scale of 13 hectares/5 years.

In the coming period, Ha Tinh agricultural extension work will continue to replicate agricultural extension models and agricultural production models that have been successfully implemented in recent years to spread and form specialized, large-scale production areas, contributing to increasing income and improving farmers' lives.

Focus on receiving and transferring new varieties of crops, livestock, aquatic products and forestry varieties; applying advanced processes and technologies to improve productivity, quality and sustainable development. Every year, the Ha Tinh Agricultural Extension Center organizes specialized training and coaching in the direction of restructuring the agricultural sector, focusing on sustainable production, emission reduction, safe production, digital transformation, chain linkage and professional farmer development.

At the same time, information and propaganda work is promoted through radio and television programs, digital platforms and study tours, contributing to the dissemination of effective models. The field of varieties focuses on conservation, storage, selection and development according to new regulations, meeting the requirements of improving product quality.

Consulting activities and agricultural extension services have been expanded, providing policy and technical information, supporting cooperative development, markets, digital transformation and linking agricultural extension - farmers - enterprises, providing direct and indirect consulting and through service contracts. Agricultural extension programs are effectively integrated with projects and target programs to optimize resources.

The province continues to promote the socialization of agricultural extension, mobilize businesses and economic organizations to participate in technology transfer, develop large-scale commodity agriculture, encourage the formation of consulting organizations and agricultural extension services; focus on supporting difficult areas and vulnerable groups.

Trade promotion activities are enhanced to connect consumption, expand markets through supermarkets, agricultural stores, fairs, forums, conferences; support chain linkage signing, traceability, brand building and bringing products to e-commerce platforms.

Digital transformation of agricultural extension is being promoted with the goal of digitizing all models, documents, reports, newsletters and operating digital agricultural extension platforms, ensuring that 100% of budget usage models are managed on the digital ecosystem.

Commune-level agricultural extension is being improved in a professional direction, linked to the market, value chain and modern production. Strengthening the training of grassroots cadres, building core forces, supporting the formation of raw material areas, linking enterprises - cooperatives, organizing training, tours, and replicating effective models.
