Promoting investment progress in smart traffic systems and highway rest stops

The Ministry of Construction has just issued a directive requiring the acceleration of investment in smart traffic management systems, automatic toll collection, vehicle weight control and the construction of rest stops at the eastern North-South expressway projects.

Accordingly, to ensure the synchronous completion of construction investment, equipment installation and eligibility for toll collection on state-invested expressways under the Eastern North-South Expressway Project in the 2017-2020 and 2021-2025 phases, the Ministry of Construction requests project management boards and relevant agencies and units to urgently deploy solutions to speed up the implementation progress.

Regarding the traffic monitoring and management system, units strictly implement the Ministry's direction; directly urge and control progress and promptly remove difficulties and problems arising during the implementation process, ensuring quality and work progress as required.

In particular, for the component projects in the 2017 - 2020 period, the units urgently and resolutely direct the construction of project items (traffic management and operation center; toll collection operator; cable trench system, cable tank along the route); at the same time, speed up the progress of supplying, installing equipment and installing software, to complete before October 31, 2025...

Units need to proactively propose solutions to improve quality, shorten the contractor selection progress, speed up construction and equipment installation, ensure completion of construction work before November 30, 2025; complete equipment and software installation before December 31, 2025.

Regarding the rest stop project, the units will closely coordinate with localities to complete site clearance for 21 rest stops, no later than July 2025.
