Information related toeducation has received special attention from the public in recent days, in addition to the 2024 high school graduation exam, there is also the Doctor of Law degree of citizen Vuong Tan Viet.
Citizen Vuong Tan Viet, also known as Venerable Thich Chan Quang (born in 1959), is the abbot of Thien Ton Phat Quang in Tan Hai commune, Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Venerable Thich Chan Quang is not only good at English, writing poetry and composing music, but is also famous for his positive contributions in spreading Buddhist ideology, social security, charity and environmental protection.
In addition, he is also known as a shareholder holding 80% of shares of Phap Quang Cultural Company Limited - a business that sells functional foods and spiritual items, including many books and CDs of Doctor, Venerable Thich Chan Quang.
It takes ordinary people 4 years to complete a PhD program, but Venerable Thich Chan Quang only needed a little over 2 years. |
The talent and popularity of Venerable Thich Chan Quang has recently become more widely known, when at the age of 58, he decided to study Law at the Hanoi Law University and graduated after 2 years with a degree of Excellence.
He then went straight to study for a PhD at the same school and completed the program in 2 years. His thesis was evaluated and commented by the Council members as having humanistic value beyond the framework of purely theoretical and legal research.
And it is also the fame and outstanding talent of Venerable Thich Chan Quang that goes beyond the normal thinking of the majority, that makes that talent become abnormal, causing public opinion to stir, and the press to waste a lot of ink.
There have been many questions raised. For example:
On June 7, 2019, Hanoi Law University issued Admission Notice No. 2190/TBTS-DHLHN regarding the second round of graduate student admission in 2019. One of the regulations in the notice is: " Applicants must have a regular bachelor's degree in law with honors or higher...".
On September 30, 2019, Hanoi Law University announced a correction to this information, saying: “Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in law with honors or higher…” (removing the regulation on regular degrees).
If applying according to the old announcement, Venerable Thich Chan Quang with his Good degree in the in-service system would not be eligible for admission, but according to the regulations in the announcement dated September 30, 2019, Venerable Thich Chan Quang meets the conditions.
Is this adjustment to facilitate Venerable Thich Chan Quang or is it simply a mistake in the typing process, and is Hanoi Law University adjusting to comply with legal regulations?
This content was informed to the press by Hanoi Law University yesterday, June 25, simply an oversight and the school adjusted it to comply with Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 08/2017/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training: "Candidates for doctoral training must have a university degree with honors or higher or a master's degree".
Another question is that according to the regulations of Hanoi Law University, the doctoral training period for those with a university degree is 4 years of continuous concentration. How did Venerable Thich Chan Quang take only more than 2 years to complete the program?
It would be difficult to explain if you are not an insider who understands the regulations and training process for Venerable Thich Chan Quang, especially at a time when the Covid-19 epidemic is breaking out, and many localities have to be locked down to prevent the spread of the disease.
In a press release issued yesterday, Hanoi Law University provided full information about the training process and the reason for shortening the training time. That: “From December 2019 to June 2021, PhD student Thich Chan Quang completed the entire master's training program and 7 modules of the doctoral program.
This PhD student also completed additional courses, doctoral level courses; published 2 international reports; was approved by the research team or supervisor to register for thesis evaluation at a professional unit.
In June 2021, PhD student Thich Chan Quang completed his thesis comments at the department level and defended it at the grassroots level 3 months later.
On October 3, 2021, PhD student Vuong Tan Viet submitted a request to shorten his training period. Two months later, he was recognized for successfully defending his thesis at the school level.
Thus, the information about the training process for Venerable Thich Chan Quang is very clear, very complete and in accordance with the process. And as assessed by a leader of Hanoi Law University when answering the Industry and Trade Newspaper: "Venerable Thich Chan Quang is a serious and hard-working student and in all processes ensures compliance with regulations".
"Hanoi Law University is a prestigious training institution, so there is no such thing as the rumored information on social networks. Everything is in accordance with procedures and regulations. Whoever posts slanderous and insulting information when the authorities investigate, that person must take responsibility," said this representative.
The information provided by Hanoi Law University is very clear, but it still does not satisfy the public's questions. Therefore, yesterday, June 25, the Ministry of Education and Training had to request Hanoi Law University to clearly report this incident.
Hopefully, the incident will soon have a final conclusion from the highest educational management agency, the Ministry of Education and Training, to dispel baseless doubts and distorted arguments affecting the reputation of Hanoi Law University and Venerable Thich Chan Quang.
