The national anthems of the two countries were played, and the two Prime Ministers and delegations and government officials of the two countries performed the flag-saluting ceremony.

At the Government headquarters, the two leaders visited a photo exhibition marking the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership in 2024 and ahead of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two Prime Ministers took a group photo in the main hall of the Prime Minister's Office. The two leaders shook hands before the talks.

Vietnam and Spain established diplomatic relations on May 23, 1977, and established a framework of Strategic Partnership towards the future in December 2009.
Spain became Vietnam's 8th largest trading partner in the EU, while Vietnam became Spain's largest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Spain is Vietnam's first Strategic Partner in the European Union (EU). It is also one of the first countries to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement.
At the Government headquarters, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation documents.
It is expected that during the visit, agreements will be signed in areas such as investment, agriculture, political consultation, culture and sports, as well as cooperation between diplomatic academies of the two countries.
