The figure was given in a report on losses in Gaza's transport and telecommunications sectors at a Palestinian government meeting in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

According to Tareq Zaarab, the Israeli army has destroyed about 945km of roads in the Gaza Strip, equivalent to 65% of the entire road network. About 55,000 vehicles have been damaged in the Israeli attacks on the strip, accounting for 60% of the total number of licensed vehicles.

Statistics from the Palestinian side show that 34,454 people have been killed and 77,575 injured since the Hamas-Israel conflict broke out in Gaza in October 2023. Meanwhile, the Israeli side recorded more than 1,200 deaths.

In another development, Mr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior official of the Hamas Islamic Movement, announced that the force will not accept any agreement with Israel that does not include a halt to the military campaign in the Gaza Strip.

A Hamas delegation is expected to arrive in Cairo on April 29 to present the group’s response to the Gaza ceasefire and negotiate a hostage swap with Israel. On April 25, the United States and 17 other countries called on Hamas to release all hostages as a solution to end the current conflict.
