General Secretary: 'Studying Ho Chi Minh means not caring about fame or profit'

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style means wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the people, regardless of and outside of fame and profit, said General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

On November 2, meeting with exemplary delegates nationwide in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said "the delegates are beautiful flowers in the beautiful, fragrant flower garden of the country".

According to the General Secretary, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style are priceless revolutionary spiritual treasures that every generation of Vietnamese people should study, follow, preserve and promote. This is also the crystallization of noble spiritual values, becoming the standard for reviving culture and building Vietnamese people in the new era.

Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style are for the country and the people, loyal to the country, filial to the people; steadfast, wise in fighting tirelessly against evil; nothing is more precious than independence and freedom; sacrificing tirelessly for the happiness of the people.

Ho Chi Minh's morality is pure, putting public service first, whole-life devotion to serving the Fatherland and the people, not caring about fame and profit and staying outside of fame and profit; is an exemplary symbol of saying what goes with doing, diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality.

That pure morality is shown in every word and action, such as : To love the people, one must be frugal; to waste is to not love the people; to embezzle and corrupt is to steal from the people, is to be guilty towards the people and the country.

According to the General Secretary, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, combined with the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and party members, is a strategic, fundamental and long-term policy to build and rectify a clean and strong Party. From there, each cadre and party member will improve their revolutionary ethics, have the courage to fight, self-criticize, be thrifty, honest, impartial and selfless.

The General Secretary believes that the collectives and individuals honored this year will continue to strive, practice, maintain their noble titles and spread them throughout society.

Since 2006, the Party has launched a campaign to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's example.
