Mr. Sulyok took office in early March 2024 and became the seventh President of Hungary. This is the first time Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas has visited Vietnam.
Vietnam and Hungary established diplomatic relations in 1950. Hungary has given Vietnam valuable support and assistance in the cause of national defense and construction.
In 2018, the two countries upgraded their traditional friendship to Comprehensive Partnership.
Hungary currently attaches importance to promoting relations with traditional partners, of which Vietnam is a priority.
Vietnam - Hungary trade turnover in 2024 will reach 932 million USD. Hungary currently has 21 valid FDI projects in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of 50.66 million USD, ranking 52nd out of 149 countries and territories with direct investment in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese community in Hungary currently has about 6,000 people, doing garment business in Asian markets and shopping centers, and has a relatively stable life. The image of Vietnamese people in the host country is quite good.
