According to a VNA reporter in New York, at the meeting, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang shared information about Vietnam's socio -economic development in recent times and thanked the UN Secretary-General for his attention and support for Vietnam.
UN Secretary-General Guterres expressed his impression of Vietnam's economic growth, despite recent difficulties in the region, and expressed his confidence that Vietnam will achieve its development goals.
On this occasion, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang announced Vietnam's initiative to organize the ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi on April 23, 2024.
The Ambassador said that this is the contribution of ASEAN and countries in the region in response to the Future Summit organized by the United Nations in September 2024. At the same time, the exchanges at the Forum are also the basis to support the policy-making work of ASEAN governments and build ASEAN's vision in the coming time.
