New generation Toyota Hilux 2026 releases teaser photos before launch date

Toyota will officially launch the new Hilux TRAVO 2026 pickup truck in Thailand on November 10, marking the first time this model has been introduced globally.

The 2026 Toyota Hilux is the successor to the Hilux REVO, developed on the existing chassis platform but with significant changes in design and technology. Notably, the Hilux TRAVO will have an additional pure electric version option in addition to the traditional diesel engine variants.

In terms of appearance, the 2026 Toyota Hilux TRAVO pickup truck still retains some familiar lines in the frame between the body and the window frame, but the front and rear of the vehicle have been completely redesigned.

The interior has also been completely refreshed, with a multi-layered center console that creates depth, a Land Cruiser-inspired gear lever, and convenient details such as cup holders arranged next to the two-sided air-conditioning vents.

The car is equipped with two options of 2.8-liter diesel engine code 1GD-FTV, with variable turbocharger. The standard version has a capacity of 204 horsepower, torque of 500 Nm, comes with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive or part-time 4-wheel drive.

The more powerful version – Super Power – has a capacity of 224 horsepower, 550 Nm of torque, uses a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive. Both versions are compatible with B20 fuel, meet Euro 5 emission standards and are equipped with a DPF. Toyota said these engines will be refined on the TRAVO, so official specifications may be adjusted when launched.

Notably, the Hilux TRAVO will have an additional 100% pure electric version (EV), manufactured in Thailand to meet the standards of the EV 3.5 incentive program. Although the final specifications have not been confirmed, the REVO BEV concept version that appeared earlier was equipped with a rear-wheel drive electric motor, a 59.4 kWh battery, capable of traveling about 300 km according to WLTP standards.

Toyota also confirmed that after launching the Double Cab body version and 2.8-liter diesel engine, the company will continue to add low-ground (Lo-Floor) variants and use the 2.4-liter diesel engine code 2GD from 2026.
