The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training held its teacher recruitment exam last July.
Recruiting 43 outstanding graduates.
According to Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc, the recruitment of teachers from the pool of outstanding graduates is carried out in accordance with Decision No. 3373 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Announcement No. 5697 of the Department of Internal Affairs on the recruitment of civil servants and public employees in Ho Chi Minh City from the pool of outstanding graduates and young scientists in 2023.
Accordingly, the total recruitment need for civil servants in public educational institutions from the pool of outstanding graduates is 43 positions across the following pedagogical majors: information technology, English, music , fine arts, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, history, geography, physical education, and national defense and security education.

How are outstanding graduates assigned to jobs?
Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc stated that the Department of Education and Training's registration with the Department of Interior Affairs for the recruitment of teachers in the aforementioned specialized fields stemmed from the reality of a shortage of music and fine arts teachers.
At the same time, positions need to be filled by outstanding graduates in subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in order to create a pool of teachers to serve in teaching and training students in the city's gifted student teams participating in national and international competitions.
Thus, "the recruitment of teachers from the pool of outstanding graduates will attract students with high qualifications, professional competence, and good moral character, meeting the needs and requirements of the job, suitable for the position, to supplement the staff to meet the requirements and tasks assigned and create a source of personnel in public educational institutions," according to Mr. Loc.
After the teacher recruitment results are available, the Department of Education and Training will review and assign successful candidates to supplement schools that are short of teachers after the 2023-2024 school year teacher recruitment period. Simultaneously, assignments will be made to align with the organization of training and development for students in the city's gifted student teams participating in national and international competitions.
The head of teacher recruitment at the Department of Education and Training emphasized that the assignment of successful candidates to public educational institutions will be carefully considered to match the candidates' qualifications, the needs of the receiving institution, and the conditions for the successful candidates to utilize their abilities in actual teaching. Successful candidates will receive benefits and policies commensurate with their abilities and strengths.
