Ho Chi Minh City: Received 7 Japanese teachers to support Japanese language teaching

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said it has received 7 Japanese teachers to support Japanese language teaching at 18 secondary and high schools in the area in the 2025-2026 school year.

In particular, in area 1 (old Ho Chi Minh City), there are 7 schools currently teaching Japanese, including: Le Quy Don, Hai Ba Trung, Vo Truong Toan secondary schools and Le Quy Don, Marie Curie, Trung Vuong, and Le Hong Phong specialized high schools.

Area 2 (old Binh Duong ) has 4 schools: Binh Thang Secondary School, Nguyen Van Tiet Secondary School; Di An High School and Hung Vuong Specialized High School.

Area 3 (old Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) has 7 schools: Chau Thanh High School, Ba Ria, Phu My, Dinh Tien Hoang, Nguyen Hue, Vung Tau and Le Quy Don Specialized High School.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, Japanese teachers will co-teach and assist Vietnamese teachers who are teaching Japanese at schools. All funding for the implementation will be supported by Japan. Schools will coordinate with native teachers to improve teaching quality, contributing to raising Japanese language proficiency standards for students.

The 2025-2026 school year is the 12th year that Ho Chi Minh City has implemented the Japanese Language Associate Program, organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (Japan Foundation) in coordination with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and the Consulate General of Japan, to expand opportunities for students to access foreign languages ​​and cultural exchange.
