On October 24, Ho Chi Minh City Police issued an official dispatch on coordination to promote propaganda work on building and completing land databases in Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City is urgently implementing a 90-day campaign to enrich and clean up the land database to build a land data system that is correct, sufficient, clean and viable, effectively serving state management, while reducing administrative procedures and citizen paperwork.
After 1 month of implementation, although positive results have been achieved in consolidating the database from 3 localities before the merger (HCMC, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) into a unified block with 4,933,319 tables recording information of land users and home owners, the campaign is still facing many difficulties, mainly due to the lack of synchronization and uniformity in information of land users and documents.
However, the data cleaning process still faces many difficulties due to the lack of consistency between land user information and related documents. Therefore, strengthening propaganda and mobilizing people to proactively review and update information is the current key task.
On October 7, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also issued a decision on the establishment of a Steering Committee and a Steering Committee Support Team to implement the campaign to enrich and clean up the Ho Chi Minh City land database.

The Steering Committee consists of 10 members with Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh as Head of the Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Toan Thang as Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee, 2 Deputy Heads of the Committee are Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
The mission of the Steering Committee is to organize and direct the implementation of the campaign to enrich and clean up the land database of Ho Chi Minh City. To direct, inspect and guide the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to implement the campaign to enrich and clean up the land database of Ho Chi Minh City.
Along with that, direct the review and restructuring of administrative procedures and processes on land, reduce the number of paper documents. Exploit available data in the land database, the national population database and other databases to resolve administrative procedures on land for people and businesses.
At the same time, the organization ensures the safety and security of information and data throughout the implementation process; has backup plans and timely incident handling.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Police, the role and benefits of people when completing the land database will bring practical benefits such as reducing administrative procedures. Standardized information will help reduce records and documents, shorten the time to handle procedures related to granting certificates and registering land changes. People's housing will be updated accurately and transparently, protecting legal rights and assets in the digital environment.
For their own benefit, the Ho Chi Minh City Police and the Department of Agriculture and Environment urgently recommend that people actively cooperate, participate in providing and verifying land and housing information. Specifically, proactively provide and verify information, coordinate with local police, social and cultural officers, residential groups and neighborhoods to declare, supplement and correct information.
People can go to the information desks located at the People's Committee headquarters and public administrative service centers to receive support in providing and verifying land information, and coordinating the standardization of personal data.
