In his speech commemorating the tradition, Comrade Nguyen Dang Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that throughout its 30 years of formation and development, the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City has had the honor of inheriting the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, government, and people of the city.

In harmony with the city's development, generations of Association officials and members from its early days laid the first bricks for the student movement during the "renovation" period, simultaneously caring for students' lives and enhancing their knowledge and skills.
From here, volunteer movements and activities originated, creating an environment for students to contribute and grow. Besides the lecture halls and textbooks, the Student Union opened up "new classrooms"—classes within the community—allowing students to experience, share, and ponder the practical issues of life.
From this very "roof," a generation of outstanding young officials and citizens has been nurtured, contributing to the development of the city and the country with a spirit of creativity, dynamism, and a desire to dedicate themselves.
Entering its 30th anniversary, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union continues its journey amidst the city's rapid transformation. The Union's membership has grown to over 650,000 students.

According to Nguyen Dang Khoa, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union, the organization will work with universities to cultivate generations of students who are "intellectually brilliant, skilled, and pioneers in integration." Along with this, they will strengthen comprehensive education in morality, intellect, physical fitness, and aesthetics in accordance with Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development. Simultaneously, they will be pioneers in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

"From there, we can contribute to the city's human resources; cultivate dynamic young citizens who dare to think, know how to do new things, and dare to take responsibility for the common good," said Comrade Nguyen Dang Khoa.

The program included an exchange between former and current officials of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
