The men's doubles final of the D-Joy Tour 2025 Leg 3 was scheduled to take place at 9:30 PM last night (October 26th) between the pair Trinh Linh Giang - Tran Ngoc Trieu and Ly Hoang Nam - Le Xuan Duc.

This promises to be a thrilling final between the two best pairs in the tournament. In particular, the first-time pairing of Linh Giang and Trieu "badminton" has brought an exciting new element to the competition. Therefore, a large number of fans have gathered at the D-Joy gymnasium in District 7 (formerly) to watch.
However, everyone was ultimately disappointed when Trieu "the badminton player" arrived late. The organizers decided to award the victory to the pair Hoang Nam - Xuan Duc.
Notably, on October 25th, Trieu "badminton" flew back to Hanoi to participate in a tournament in Bac Ninh. Then, on October 26th, he continued to compete with his teammate Dat "Tro" in another tournament in Hanoi (losing in the semi-finals to Minh Quan - Vinh Hien). After that, at 6:30 PM, Trieu "badminton" immediately flew to Ho Chi Minh City to compete in the D-Joy Tour final.
According to the schedule, Trieu "the badminton player" was expected to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 8:30 PM, still having enough time to travel to D-Joy Stadium for the final match. However, things didn't go as planned. Due to heavy rain in Ho Chi Minh City last night, the plane couldn't land as scheduled. It took more than an hour of circling before the plane could finally land.

Three badminton players, Linh Giang, Hoang Nam, and Xuan Duc, along with a large audience, awaited the arrival of "Badminton Trieu." The organizers even sent someone to the airport to pick up Ngoc Trieu. However, in the end, "Badminton Trieu" arrived nearly three hours late. The pair Hoang Nam and Xuan Duc refused to compete due to the late hour. Xuan Duc also had to attend school on the morning of October 27th. Therefore, the organizers decided to declare Linh Giang and Ngoc Trieu the losers. Hoang Nam and Xuan Duc received their first prize.
On his personal page, Ly Hoang Nam stated: “The organizers announced that the match would take place at 9:30 PM. Duc and Nam agreed to wait until then, and as you can see, everyone tried to prolong the wait for Mr. Trieu.”
Nam and Duc discussed with the organizers the possibility of canceling the final match because they didn't know when Mr. Trieu would land at Tan Son Nhat airport and had repeatedly failed to receive a final decision. This frustrated and exhausted Duc, and Nam decided not to compete anymore.
Duc said he felt tired since 9 am and wouldn't be able to play even if he went on the court, so Nam finally decided not to participate in the match. This affected the waiting audience, and Nam and Duc apologize and hope for everyone's understanding."
On social media, the majority of opinions criticized badminton player Trieu for his lack of professionalism, with comments such as:
"This player has no respect for his opponents, the audience, or the organizers whatsoever."
"Triệu, the badminton player, is too focused on making money and doesn't miss any tournaments. How can he possibly compete professionally under those circumstances?"
"It's important for professional athletes to respect their opponents and the audience. Even if he arrives on time, how can he possibly have the fitness to compete, or is he just putting on a show?"
Some argue that the pair Hoang Nam and Xuan Duc should have played since Ngoc Trieu was already on the court.
