In recent days, relief supplies from people all over have been delivered to many flood-affected areas in the North. During the sorting process, there were quite a few cases of finding dresses that were too short, evening gowns, and clothes that were torn or damaged and unusable.
Recently, netizens shared a series of photos showing people finding new wedding dresses and evening gowns among donated clothing. In the photos, a woman is seen trying on a white wedding dress to commemorate the occasion.

The image immediately received many shares and mixed reactions from the community.
One netizen commented: "If you have the heart to donate clothes, you should wash them thoroughly, fold them neatly, and choose the right clothes; don't donate dresses."
"Personally, I think dresses or clothes are fine as long as they're not too old or tattered. If they don't wear them now, they'll wear them later. For many people, a wedding dress is a lifelong dream. We should be happy," netizen CucNguyen expressed.
However, some people expressed the opinion that photos of donated dresses should not be taken and posted on social media as a joke, because behind them lies the generosity of the donors.
Netizen TH wrote: "If people help in any way, thank them for it. Anything you don't need, throw it away. You shouldn't do that. It's not a joke."
The image is meant to be humorous and not mocking.
In an interview with Dan Tri newspaper, Ms. NTH (living in Yen Bai ) confirmed that the images were taken by her when people came to choose clothes brought by the charity group.
Ms. H. expressed surprise that the images on her personal page attracted so much attention and received so many conflicting opinions from netizens.
"I posted the photo just to have some fun after the exhausting days of the storm and floods. I don't understand why so many people think it's a joke or mockery. I had absolutely no ill intentions when posting the photo. We deeply appreciate all the support from our compatriots across the country."
According to Ms. H., the wedding dress was new and beautiful, but not really suitable for the people in the flood-affected area.
"I hung the dress up for the photoshoot to avoid leaving it on the floor, where people walking in would get it dirty," Ms. H shared.
Seeing the beautiful wedding dress, a local resident who had never worn one on her wedding day tried it on. Even the charity worker asked to take a photo with it, beaming with a smile.
Ms. H. said: "The clothes donated to charity are all new and beautiful; people can choose according to their needs and what suits them, without any intention of complaining or ridiculing."

As a resident living in an area affected by recent floods and landslides, Ms. H. believes that all relief supplies are very valuable. However, philanthropists could send more practical, usable items to the people.
"During floods, people can donate food and water. Afterwards, volunteer groups can help provide items like pots, stoves, hoes, and shovels to help people stabilize their lives. Regarding clothing, before donating, please sort carefully to avoid items that are torn, damaged, dirty, or unusable," Ms. H. shared her personal opinion with Dan Tri newspaper.
