After a period of launching, the Organizing Committee of the 1st South Central Journalism Awards received more than 250 works in the categories of print, electronic, radio and television from press agencies in localities from Da Nang City to Ninh Thuan Province. Through the judging process, the Jury recommended that the Organizing Committee award 22 prizes to outstanding works. Of which, there were 2 First prizes, 4 Second prizes, 6 Third prizes and 10 Encouragement prizes. The First Prize in the print and electronic newspaper category belonged to the 3-part series "Guiding the mountainous people to commodity production" by author Vo Thi Phe (Phu Yen Newspaper); the First Prize in the radio and television category belonged to the 4-part investigative report "Management, exploitation and trading of sand in Quang Ngai province" by the group of authors Ung Khanh Hoang Thuyen and Tran Ngoc Trai (Quang Ngai Radio and Television Station).
Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded the Second Prize in the radio and television category to the author and group of authors.
At this award, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Journalists Association had 3 award-winning works; the reportage "Han Van Thu, the inspirational person" by the group of authors Bui Huu Tam, Nguyen Minh Vu, Nguyen Thi Khanh Hang (Ninh Thuan Radio and Television Station) won the Second Prize and 2 works won the Encouragement Prize including: Radio reportage "So that the drowning prevention program does not "drown" by the group of authors Tran Cong Phong, Nguyen Quoc Hung, Le Ngoc My Hanh (Ninh Thuan Radio and Television Station); A series of articles reflecting 3 episodes "Building Ninh Thuan into a center of renewable energy, opportunities and challenges" by author Ngu Anh Tuan (Ninh Thuan Newspaper).
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the 1st South Central Journalism Awards also launched a call for delegates, journalists, and reporters to attend the ceremony to raise 25.1 million VND to support the people of the North in areas affected by storm No. 3. The leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association also launched the 2nd South Central Journalism Awards in 2025.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper presented 200 gifts to accompany fishermen; awarded 25 scholarships to fishermen's children in the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen". Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented scholarships to support ethnic minority students and poor students in Khanh Hoa province and Vietnam Traffic Safety Association presented 300 helmets to students and award-winning journalists.
