Awarding the prize "Building green schools - For a green Hanoi" to 39 schools

Mr. Trinh Hoang Tung - Vice Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee spoke at the Summary Program

Speaking at the Summary Program, Mr. Trinh Hoang Tung - Vice Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Committee said that environmental pollution is a hot issue of concern today, environmental protection has become more than ever an urgent task for the whole society. Students are the future generation of the whole country, the ones who decide the development of the whole society and nation, and are also the most affected by environmental issues with future development. Therefore, the issue of environmental protection education is always of interest to Hoan Kiem District, organized annually with many different forms and topics such as waste, air, energy, trees and water conservation, etc.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 2600/ UBND-TNMT dated August 12, 2022 of the City People's Committee on approving the expansion of the green school model in the city in the past year, promoting achievements and action plans, up to now, the District People's Committee has directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Education and Training of Hoan Kiem District to coordinate in implementing the program to 39 kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in the district.

The program has attracted the attention of teachers, the participation of students and parents, and achieved remarkable results such as: 100% of schools participated in the program and sent reports to the district; 71 slogans were sent to the program's Organizing Committee; More than 100 Green Ambassador contest entries were sent by students; 27 initiatives on water conservation were developed and implemented at 12 primary and secondary schools in the district, ... along with many practical actions in environmental protection carried out by students at school, family, and community where they live. It can be seen that, through the students, the Program has also promoted to parents the message "Let's join hands to protect the environment" with specific and meaningful actions.

Thereby, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District highly appreciated the close coordination of the two Departments of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Education and Training of the district in having various forms of conveying practical contents for schools to implement and hoped that each teacher, each student and parents would continue to raise awareness of environmental protection in schools and in society; Students are always pioneers and leaders in all movements of activities in environmental protection in particular and for the living environment of the whole society in general.

In the Summary Program "Building green schools - For a green Hanoi" for the 2022 - 2023 school year, the District People's Committee awarded prizes to schools with outstanding achievements, including: 10 excellent green schools; 10 excellent green ambassadors and 1 youngest green ambassador; 14 third prizes, 10 second prizes and 10 first prizes in the Slogan Creation Contest.
