Giving clean water wells and gifts to students in mountainous districts

On the morning of May 30, the Resident Journalists Association in Phu Yen (under the Phu Yen Provincial Journalists Association) coordinated with sponsors to present 40 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) to students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well at Son Hoi Primary and Secondary School (Son Hoi Commune, Son Hoa District, Phu Yen).

La So Thi Thao My, a 9B student at Son Hoi Primary and Secondary School, said she was very happy to receive the attention of teachers, journalists and sponsors. "I will use this money to buy new books and clothes to prepare for the upcoming school year. I promise to try my best to overcome difficulties and study well," My said.

Previously, on May 29, the Resident Journalists Association in Phu Yen, together with the Phu Yen Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank Branch (SMB Phu Yen) and the Phu Yen Power Company Union, presented 1 drilled water well, 85 gifts, 67 school uniforms and 4 bicycles to poor students who overcame difficulties and studied well at the Hoa Ngai hamlet school, belonging to Son Dinh Primary and Secondary School (Son Dinh commune, Son Hoa district). The total value of the gifts is more than 100 million VND.

Giving bicycles to students at Hoa Ngai village school

Mr. Le Van Quy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Hoa District, said: "Clean water wells and gifts such as pens, books, school bags, school supplies, bicycles... are a source of motivation for students in difficult circumstances to continue going to school. From now on, students at Hoa Ngai school have a source of clean water to drink and take care of trees in the campus. Not only that, people in the vicinity of Hoa Ngai village can also use this water source for daily activities in the dry season."
