Exhibition of sketches by fallen soldiers at the Monument to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother.

To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27), on July 16, at the Monument to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother (Le Thanh Tong Street, Quang Phu Ward, formerly Tam Ky City, Da Nang City), the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, in coordination with the Quang Nam Relics and Museums Management Board, organized a traveling exhibition of sketches with the theme "Memories of the Battlefield in Zone V".

The exhibition features 78 sketches by martyr and artist Ha Xuan Phong, the late artist Nguyen Duc Hanh, and several other artists who participated in the fighting in the Zone V battlefield.

Delegates listened to a presentation on the significance of the sketches.

According to the organizers, the sketches, though simple, contain a whole world of memories from a time of war and fire, stories and experiences of a harsh but heroic life. The sketches are also vivid pages of history in brushstrokes, expressing the courageous and indomitable fighting spirit and intense patriotism of our soldiers and people. Being held at the Monument to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother – a sacred symbol of sacrifice, patriotism, and indomitable revolutionary spirit – makes the exhibition even more meaningful.

Previously, on July 11th, the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts (78 Le Duan Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City) also opened a thematic exhibition, showcasing 60 sketches by martyrs and artists who participated in the fighting in Zone V. Both exhibitions will run until August 10th.
