Vietnam is a country with a high level of popularity for Korean films in general, and Korean dramas consistently rank among the top favorites of Vietnamese audiences.
This Korean webtoon exhibition in Vietnam showcases the original content and images from two webtoons, "Itaewon Class" and "Sweet Home," which were adapted into television series and topped the Netflix charts in Vietnam in 2020. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of these two works, experiencing their appeal not only on television but also as original webtoons.

The exhibition runs from September 7th to September 22nd.
The exhibition recreates the model of the pub and alleyway in Itaewon from KwangJin's *Itaewon Class* and the abandoned apartment building and monsters inside from Kim Carnby and Hwang Youngchan's *Haunted World*. Visitors to this exhibition will have a realistic experience as if they were standing in the world of the works.
In addition, the exhibition includes diverse experiential spaces related to the works, such as coloring webtoons, stamping webtoon postcards, experiencing Korean pub cooking recipes, taking photos transforming into monsters, a webtoon library, experiencing costumes commonly seen in webtoons (Korean school uniforms), and taking photos…
In addition, the exhibition will feature many other attractive programs such as: the Webtoon drawing contest awards ceremony with the theme "What do Vietnam and Korea mean to you?"; a meet-and-greet with author KwangJin, the author of the webtoon Itaewon Class, including a Q&A session with the author, webtoon drawing demonstrations, and especially a musical performance of songs from the drama along with popular K-pop songs in Vietnam, performed by author KwangJin himself; a costume experience as a monster character from the haunted house; and learning calligraphy using sound effects from webtoon speech bubbles. These programs promise to be very popular with visitors.
According to the organizers, this exhibition will not only feature programs for visitors but also organize business networking events for companies operating in the webtoon comic industry.
As part of the exhibition's activities, the Korea Creative Content Agency's representative office in Vietnam will organize a B2B online business networking event on comics and webtoons between Korean and Vietnamese businesses on September 9-10, 2024, and an online seminar on "The Competitiveness of K-Contents in the Webtoon and Animation Industry" on September 10, 2024. Additionally, on September 22, 2024 – the final day of the exhibition – a seminar on K-Webtoon copyright will be held, organized by the Korea Copyright Protection Agency.

Schedule of programs at the exhibition
Choi Seung Jin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, stated: "According to a 2023 survey on the Hallyu wave abroad, webtoons are the number one Hallyu content in Vietnam in terms of consumption. Therefore, the first-ever Korean webtoon exhibition in Vietnam promises to bring a fresh experience to Vietnamese people, while also opening up business opportunities in Vietnam for Korean webtoons and expanding to other industries such as television dramas..."
