The delegation held a working session at the Vietnam National Tourism Administration - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Meeting with the delegation was Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration.

During the meeting, the leaders of the Department unanimously agreed to support Nghe An province through the coordinating agency, the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, in implementing key tourism promotion programs in 2024. These programs include: the Lotus Culinary Tourism Festival to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday on May 19th; the development of a digital tourism map of Nghe An; a roadshow program to promote Nghe An tourism abroad; research into including Nghe An in famtrip/presstrip programs developed by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration; and collaboration in promoting information on various platforms.

Director Nguyen Trung Khanh suggested that Nghe An province needs to step up promotion and attract investment to develop tourism in a way that matches its potential.

The delegation held working sessions with the Department of Enterprise Development and the Department of Foreign Investment - Ministry of Planning and Investment. During these sessions, leaders of the units under the Ministry of Planning and Investment highly appreciated Nghe An province's efforts in improving the investment and business environment, raising the Provincial Competitiveness Index, and especially making Nghe An a bright spot in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), ranking 6th out of 63 provinces and cities as of the end of September 2023.

The delegation also worked and exchanged experiences with the Hanoi City Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center. With the desire to establish cooperation between the two localities, the two units agreed to implement the Hanoi - Nghe An Investment Promotion and Trade and Tourism Promotion Program in 2023 in Vinh City, linked with the "Journey of Gratitude to Comrades, Towards Uncle Ho" Caravan. This event will take place from October 26th to 29th, 2023. In addition, a Nghe An Product Week in Hanoi 2023 will be organized. The two units agreed on the content of communication and promotion of both localities on each other's digital platforms; and to collaborate in investment promotion and trade and tourism promotion abroad to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and cost savings for each side…

On October 20th, the Nghe An Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion also held a working session with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen – National Coordinator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) – to call for support for tourism development for ethnic minority communities in the mountainous districts of Nghe An province; and to promote Nghe An's tourism potential through UNDP programs…
