In his hometown of Hai Phong, Nguyen Tien Duc started his music career at the age of 14, when the guitar became his close friend. From here, his first songs were born, "nurturing" the artist's soul. In 2018, Duc entered the top 9 of the online round of the "Sing My Song" program, showing the courage of a young person who dared to try and be creative.

In 2020, Tien Duc chose to stick with the green uniform of the army when studying at the University of Military Culture and Arts. There, he not only learned about musical notes but also learned how to listen to the marching steps of his comrades, military life and important political events. From there, every melody he wrote carried within him a deep love for the Fatherland and comradeship.

During the difficult days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Nguyen Tien Duc wrote a series of songs with the spirit of encouragement and sharing such as "Vietnam I am resilient", "For a radiant Vietnam", "We will meet after the epidemic"... With simple melodies and warm lyrics, these songs seem to give strength to the community, arousing the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy" in the hearts of Vietnamese people.

In particular, the song “We engrave Uncle Ho’s words in our mind” was composed by Duc on the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (1890-2023), expressing the depth of thought and feelings of a young person for the beloved leader of the nation. The song depicts a familiar image of Uncle Ho, blended in a solemn yet passionate melody, demonstrating maturity in compositional style.

2023 was a challenging year for Nguyen Tien Duc when he encountered difficulties in building new relationships and orientation after graduation. And what made Tien Duc feel more empty, more difficult to stabilize his psychology and emotions was that his beloved father had passed away. However, with his love for music, he turned loss into motivation. Also in that year, Duc graduated with honors and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chemical Corps Command for his outstanding contributions in composing and staging the 12th Chemical Corps Mass Arts Festival.

A memorable memory when Nguyen Tien Duc joined the working group to visit Truong Sa archipelago in May 2024. In the middle of the vast ocean, his guitar resounded during the exchange, connecting hearts on the mainland with distant islands. From those sacred experiences, he wrote the song "So proud of Vietnam!" - a youthful, bustling and proud song.

The touching and meaningful lyrics resonate in the soul of the soldier-artist: "Since the day I was born, I have heard/ The sweet lullaby of my mother/ That our Vietnam is so beautiful and brave with bamboo trees". The opening line of the song is quite natural, like a narrative. The song continues the flow of proud emotions and a steadfast oath: "Then the two words Vietnam are choked in me/ Proudly standing tall with red blood and yellow skin/ Continuing to uphold the glorious tradition". Modern pop melody, vibrant rhythm, simple but heroic lyrics. All blend together to create a touching piece of music, full of faith. The MV of the song was then filmed in Vinh Hy Bay (Ninh Thuan) with images symbolizing the homeland, country and people of Vietnam.

For Nguyen Tien Duc, music is the voice of patriotism, a means to touch people's hearts. He is not noisy or ostentatious, just quietly composing and singing his faith in the Fatherland. "My goal is to write many good songs praising the country, the Army, and the Vietnamese youth" - Lieutenant Nguyen Tien Duc shared.

Tien Duc's musical journey has left an imprint of a soldier-artist with a steadfast spirit, pure soul, burning with passion and dedication. His works express the faith of patriotic youth, a song of the new era, always loyal to the beautiful Vietnamese Fatherland.
