
At 5:00 p.m. on September 28, before storm No. 10 hit, strong winds and large waves appeared in Cua Lo ward. Waves rushed ashore, causing local flooding in some sections of Binh Minh Street. The wind tore off corrugated iron roofs and damaged some ornamental plants of local households.

Up to this point, Cua Lo ward has been actively implementing solutions to cope with storm No. 10. Households have carefully secured their houses and shops. Fishermen have brought their boats to safe shelters and anchored them to avoid accidents.


Information from the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward: On September 28, the ward deployed many urgent measures to ensure safety for the people.


Accordingly, the Ward People's Committee has established 7 on-duty teams in 7 old wards and 1 mobile team with 99 members, including all forces in the area: Grassroots Security Team, Ward Military Command, Disaster Prevention and Control Shock Team, Ward Police, Border Guard and Mobile Police to respond to storm No. 10; fully prepare means, necessities and equipment "4 on-site".

Cua Lo Ward has called on 100% of ships and boats to safely avoid and take shelter from the storm, with 250 ships and 275 basket boats; organized reinforcement and anchoring of 32 rafts and cages and asked people not to stay on the rafts when the storm comes.

Before storm No. 10 made landfall, Cua Lo ward also organized forces to clear canals on key roads, trim trees, brace houses and roofs; and check locations at risk of landslides to have timely treatment plans.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Vice Chairman of Cua Lo Ward People's Committee said: The ward has organized forces and means to carry out the relocation of households according to the scenarios and plans that have been developed. As of 5:00 p.m. on September 28, Cua Lo Ward has relocated 421 households, with 1,181 people to primary schools, kindergartens and solid 2-3-storey houses./.
