Ton Duc Thang University celebrates 80 years of tradition in the Education sector

GD&TĐ - The school's opening ceremony was held in the large hall, connected online with the opening ceremony and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education.

On September 5, Ton Duc Thang University held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, welcoming new students of the 29th course.

The event is part of a series of activities responding to the nationwide online opening ceremony launched by the Ministry of Education and Training , on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training).

Attending the opening ceremony in the school's large hall were hundreds of officials, employees, workers, students, and postgraduates - representing more than 27,000 students of the entire school.

Dr. Vu Anh Duc, Party Secretary and Chairman of the School Council, presented congratulatory letters to the new doctoral students.

At the opening ceremony, Ton Duc Thang University reviewed the outstanding achievements of the 2024-2025 school year and presented congratulatory letters to new doctoral students and new master's students.

In the first enrollment period of 2025, the school had 14 graduate students admitted to doctoral training programs in the fields of Computer Science , Computational Science, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering. In addition, the school welcomed more than 200 new graduate students in 15 training majors.

Currently, Ton Duc Thang University organizes training with 16 specialized faculties, including 43 undergraduate programs, 17 master's programs, 5 doctoral programs and 13 joint programs with prestigious universities around the world .

The training scale remains stable with more than 27,000 students, trainees and postgraduates.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the school achieved many outstanding results in training and enrollment.

In 2024, the school will enroll 6,832 students out of a total of 6,870 students, achieving more than 99% of the plan. The whole school has 6,738 undergraduate students, 56 master's students and 10 doctoral students successfully defending their theses.

School staff, lecturers and students listened to the speech of General Secretary To Lam at the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Education sector's tradition and open the new school year 2025-2026.

In addition, Ton Duc Thang University also achieved many achievements in university accreditation and ranking.

The school has just been recognized by the FIBAA Accreditation and Certification Committee as meeting international educational quality accreditation standards. The accreditation period lasts for 6 years, from March 6, 2024 to March 5, 2030. To date, the school has 44 undergraduate and graduate training programs that meet international accreditation standards.

After the honoring ceremony, teachers and students of the school watched the live broadcast of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education and the opening of the 2025-2026 school year.
