The State Bank of Vietnam has just issued Circular 50, which stipulates the requirements for ensuring safety and security for online banking services.

One of the new regulations mentioned in Circular 50 is that banks are not allowed to send SMS messages or emails to customers containing hyperlinks to websites, except at the customer's request.

This new regulation aims to prevent fraud against customers via SMS messages and emails. Requiring credit institutions not to send messages or emails containing links can help customers identify fraudulent SMS messages.

Circular 50 also stipulates regulations regarding digital banking application software, requiring that applications (apps) not have the function of remembering customers' access passwords.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Circular 50 stipulates new standards, consistent with the practical operation of digital banking services, improving service quality and protecting customer rights in the context of increasing cybersecurity threats.
