Certainly ranked first in Group C and qualified for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship, U23 Vietnam entered the match against U23 Singapore with a relaxed mentality. Coach Philippe Troussier made up to 8 changes in the starting lineup of U23 Vietnam, keeping only 3 players who started in the previous 2 matches.

The home team still controlled the match thanks to their superior technique. The ball almost only rolled on the U23 Singapore field. In the 12th minute, goalkeeper Aizil Yazid made a mistake and fouled Bui Vi Hao in the penalty area. Nguyen Dinh Bac scored from the penalty spot, opening the score for U23 Vietnam.

This goal helped U23 Vietnam play more excitedly. Coach Troussier's students continuously had dangerous opportunities. However, Dinh Bac, Vi Hao and Van Khang could not take advantage to increase the gap. The first half ended without any more goals being scored.

In the 58th minute, a U23 Singapore player took a corner kick that was not very dangerous, but the ball hit Huu Nam and went straight into the home team's goal, surprising goalkeeper Cao Van Binh.

After conceding the first goal in the U23 Asian qualifiers, U23 Vietnam was affected psychologically. They could no longer control the game well and left many gaps. However, Huu Nam scored with a very strong shot from close range to raise the score to 2-1 for U23 Vietnam.

The chase did not stop there. In the 85th minute, Farhan made a delicate pass for Chua Zikos to break through and defeat Cao Van Binh, helping U23 Singapore equalize for the second time. In the remaining time, U23 Vietnam tried hard but could not score more goals. In the end, the two teams tied 2-2, U23 Vietnam was the leading team in Group C of the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers.
