This is a significant milestone, ensuring that the trains have fully met quality, safety, and environmental standards, making them eligible for operation on the railway… ready for commercial operation by the end of June or beginning of July.

A certificate of quality, technical safety, and environmental protection is a document certifying that a vehicle, assembly, equipment, or component has been inspected according to current regulations. The certification process is strictly carried out by competent authorities, based on the Railway Law and Circular No. 29/2018/TT-BGTVT dated May 14, 2018, regulating the inspection of quality, technical safety, and environmental protection of railway vehicles.

Currently, 10 trains on Hanoi 's pilot urban railway line, the Nhon - Hanoi Station section, have been affixed with inspection stickers. These stickers are a symbol indicating that railway vehicles have passed inspection and meet relevant technical standards and regulations. The location of the inspection sticker varies depending on the type of railway vehicle. For locomotives and specialized vehicles, the sticker is affixed to the inside, upper right corner of the window (viewed from the driver's position) or in an easily visible location. For passenger carriages and urban railway carriages, the sticker is affixed inside the carriage at carriage number 1 in an easily visible location.

The pilot urban railway project in Hanoi, specifically the Nhon - Hanoi Station section, is one of the city's important transportation projects, aiming to reduce traffic congestion, improve the public transport system, and contribute to environmental protection. The granting of certificates for the trains is proof of the quality of the vehicles and the efforts of all parties involved in bringing the project into official operation, ensuring maximum safety for users.

The Hanoi Metro Line 3 project, the Nhon - Hanoi Station section, utilizes 10 trains specially designed by the French manufacturer Alstom. With the theme "Green Journey," the trains feature three colors: light green, red, and white; the locomotive's front section, adorned with the Khue Van Cac symbol, creates a unique landmark for the capital city.

The trains operate continuously on standard gauge (1435 mm) railway tracks. The train bodies are made of lightweight, durable, and environmentally friendly aluminum alloy. The trains are designed to the latest European standards, featuring a luxurious, modern style with full amenities, and have been researched to suit the needs of Vietnamese people.

The train is one of Alstom's modern products, fully equipped with amenities such as: air conditioning, ventilation, passenger announcement system, camera system, independent fire and smoke detection system, automatic LED lighting that adjusts to suit the conditions when entering underground sections... The interior of the train, with its bright colors and white LED lighting system, will always create a spacious and comfortable feeling for passengers on board.

In particular, the train utilizes Alstom's advanced Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling solution called URBALIS, offering advantages such as a flexible control system structure, optimized safety, and uninterrupted passenger service. Each train consists of four carriages (two motor carriages with cabins, one motor carriage, and one trailer carriage), with three out of four carriages using three-phase AC motors and air spring bogies installed to enhance operational reliability. The train has a capacity of 944-1124 passengers, with a density of approximately 6.6-8 people/m², and operates at a commercial speed of 35 km/h and a design speed of 80 km/h.

The train uses a low-voltage 750VDC third-rail electric traction system with a compact, simple, and robust structure, low construction and maintenance costs, and ensures urban aesthetics. The braking system is equipped with regenerative braking to reduce energy consumption and lower maintenance costs. The train has a low floor, making it convenient for passengers to board and alight, especially those carrying luggage or using wheelchairs. In addition, the train has priority areas for people with disabilities, and seats reserved for the elderly, women, and children.

The elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station line comprises 8 stations and spans over 8 km from Nhon Station (Bac Tu Liem District) to Cau Giay Station. After 14 years of construction, the commissioning of this urban railway line is an event eagerly awaited by the people of Hanoi.
