On the afternoon of December 6, the U22 Vietnam team took the opportunity to practice in Bangkok before going to watch U22 Malaysia play their opening match of the 32nd SEA Games against U22 Laos in the afternoon of the same day.
In an interview with Vietnamese media before the training session, defender Pham Minh Phuc shared: "After a day of rest and relaxation, the whole team is determined to return to training and prepare for the next match."
The Vietnam U22 team won 2-1 against Laos U22 in the opening match. On December 11, the team will play the final match of the group stage against Malaysia U22.
Minh Phuc said: "U22 Malaysia has not played yet, so this afternoon we will go to the field to watch them play against U22 Laos to be able to watch more closely. The coaches will have assessments, analysis and clear tactics for us."
This defender of the Hanoi Police Club also shared that this is his first SEA Games, so he is very excited and determined to try his best to contribute to Vietnamese football.

He said: "The biggest problem lies with U22 Vietnam itself. So we will try to improve ourselves, improve our playing style to perform our best in the upcoming match."
With his good form, Minh Phuc took the starting position in the match against U22 Laos in the right-back position instead of Vo Anh Quan. Despite the victory, the U22 Vietnam team also revealed many limitations in both attack and defense.
He shared: "In the first match with U22 Laos, we also showed many positive points.
We controlled the game and created many chances. But what we need to improve is probably the final passes and finishing situations." So how will you and your teammates improve?, the reporter asked.
Minh Phuc replied: "In the upcoming training sessions, Coach Kim Sang Sik will give us more detailed instructions. He always tells us to stay calm, and when we reach the goal, we must always be calm and decisive."
Minh Phuc also sent his best wishes for victory to the Vietnamese women's team competing in Chonburi. "While we were having dinner, we watched on TV your match against Malaysia. We congratulate you on your victory. We wish you continued victories in the next matches to win the gold medal."
