Head coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that the opening match will not be easy and the team has prepared carefully.

He said that U22 Laos is being led by the head coach of the Laos national team, who has accompanied this group of players for a long time. Therefore, the opponent possesses cohesion and a stable playing style.

“The opening match is against U22 Laos, but this is not an easy match. We have prepared the best for this match,” coach Kim Sang-sik of U22 Vietnam emphasized at a press conference on the morning of December 2 in Thailand.

Mr. Kim's caution reflects the determination of U22 Vietnam at this SEA Games, in the context that the tournament is considered the last important task of Vietnamese football in 2025. The key nature of the opening match forces the whole team to maintain maximum concentration, because a favorable start not only means points but also helps relieve pressure and create psychological momentum.

On the other hand, coach Ha Hyeok-jun of U22 Laos also confirmed that the team has completed all preparations for the 33rd SEA Games. He emphasized the importance of the first match and placed his faith in the ability of U22 Vietnam to achieve the set goal.

“We are preparing the best. Tomorrow's match is very important and we believe we will achieve our goal,” he shared.

With careful preparation from the coaching staff and a high level of concentration, U22 Vietnam entered the 33rd SEA Games journey with the expectation of achieving full results in the first match. The encounter with U22 Laos promises to bring many challenges, but at the same time is also an opportunity to affirm the aspirations of the young generation of players.

At 4:00 p.m. on December 3, U22 Vietnam will have their opening match in men's football, in Group B of SEA Games 33 against U22 Laos.
